October 2017

October RecapThe children have been working on exploring their feelings and emotions this month.  It has been great to see them learning how to express their emotions appropriately.  I have seen feelings charts being posted up in the classrooms to help the children identify what type of mood they are in for the day.  It really helps a child when they can voice what they are feeling.

Our curriculum for October has been filled with a variety of topics.  In honor of the Halloween holiday the children have explored nocturnal animals, the skeleton, and pumpkins.

A letter was sent out to all parents and families regarding the upcoming events to look forward to.  This month we have sent out see’s candies fundraising forms.  The fundraiser will begin Oct. 23rd.  We will be raising money for a new sandbox for our playground.  The classroom that raises the most money will receive a pizza party!

We will also have a scholastic book fair coming to our school on Oct. 30-Nov. 9.  An ice cream party will be given to the classroom that purchases the most items!

Halloween art has been posted up on the walls of the school and our cooking classes have been creative in incorporating the holiday in their recipes.
