March 2021

Love and friendship was in the air here at Little Acorn. February allowed the children to really cherish their friends and family, Cultural Awareness and Friendship brought lots of fun activities for the classes to learn and explore! We started the month with our annual Valentine’s Day celebration, although small the class had a blast. They enjoyed yummy snacks and practiced their manners while passing out their adorable Valentine’s to their friends and teachers. The classes also discussed the continent of Asia and Lunar New Year. With the school year halfway done, the classes are beginning to piece together the continents around the globe.  This allowed the children to be able to talk about all their different traditions, cultures, and backgrounds. The classes not only learned about the different cultures surrounding Asia, but they also learned about the different cultures and traditions practiced by their friends. Culture awareness day was a huge success, with many children coming in their traditional clothing. It is always great to see how diverse our little community is.

March News:

In March, Spring begins and allows for a lot more outdoor time! The classes will be focusing their studies on the African Savanna, learning all about the animals that inhabit the beautiful continent. They will also take some time to talk about different plants they would like to plant in their spring gardens. The children always love getting involved with the planning and planting process of their gardens. We are excited for our Spring photos and Spring egg hunt, with having to cancel last year’s event we are extremely excited to be able to enjoy these events again. Lastly, the children will enjoy a fun spirit week, to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
