April 2021

March came and went in the blink of an eye! The children were busy enjoying spirit weeks, spring egg hunts, and looking for Leprechauns. In March there were lots of activities to keep the children’s creativity flowing, we started the month with our annual Read Across America spirit week, with themes pertaining to the fun books the classes read throughout the year. It was great to see how creative some of our children and families got. Our personal favorite was when the children wore what they felt made them unique. The classes enjoyed going on an African Safari and learning all about the African Savanna. Our teachers did a great job at bringing the Savanna to our own backyard, they decorated and placed animals all over the play yard for the children to find on their safari adventure. We ended the month, with our Spring Egg hunt! The children had a blast searching high and low to find some treats for them to enjoy. Spring has allowed for the children to enjoy the outdoors much more. The classes took time and really worked on their gardens.

In Enrichments, the children practiced rhythm and keeping beats for music class, created fun recipes in cooking class relating to Dr. Seuss and St. Patrick’s Day. They learned how different cooking tools are used such as conventional ovens and blenders. For art class, they created fun crafts like African masks, and pots of gold.

April News:

In April, the classes are discussing Islands and Volcanoes!  We are also celebrating the Week Of The Young Child with a fun spirit week. We are also celebrating Earth Day but continuing to our gardens and having discussions with the children about how to best tend to plants and the earth. The classes will also discuss the importance of recycling. Thank you for your support throughout all our activities, our family community is what makes Little Acorn such a great school!
