Enrichment Classes

In addition to our rich Montessori Curriculum, for children who are enrolled in our extended day, we offer five different programs: Spanish, Computers, Cooking, Art and Music. There is no additional cost to participate.

Computers

Children use ABCMouse curriculum to learn how to use a mouse, tablet and follow a learning path that aligns with the Montessori learning method. Each week is a new lesson and adventure. Each child’s progress is individual and parents can access a portion from home to interact and engage with their child’s progress.

Art

The students will spend each month learning about a new Artist and their style of art. They will learn about the artist life. They will also explore different art mediums, as well as projects related to the seasons, themes and holidays. The teachers will help children have positive experience with art appreciation and expression.

Cooking

Each week, children will engage in different cooking experiences that promote healthy and child-friendly projects. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, measuring, mixing, baking and preparation. Children will explore foods from around the world associated with the geography unit for the month. They will try new foods and share meals and snacks with their peers. By including them in the process, children are more likely to be confident and safe in the kitchen, as well as excited about food and cooking as they get older.

Music

Each month, the students will learn about a different composer from history. They will learn about their life and spend time listening to some of their more popular pieces during music and class time. Children will explore different musical instruments, rhythms and beats. Music, movement and signing are also part of our Spanish Enrichment Program.

Spanish

Each week children participate in group Spanish circles and lessons to learn the basics such as numbers, colors, days of the week, months of the year, vocabulary related to our monthly themes. Songs, fingerplay and movement are a large part of our foreign language program which is a fun way for children to engage and retain new language information.
